What is the financial investment?
The cost for the program is $675. This is inclusive of your LK course material, full day retreat at Camp Tecumseh (with lunch), StrengthsFinder 2.0 test code with professional training/coaching on StrengthsFinder, nationally recognized leadership trainers throughout the year, and more.
Who should participate?
Existing and emerging leaders; employees at companies or organizations across north central Indiana, or residents of Howard County will benefit from participating in this unique leadership training program. Participants will make connections in addition to benefiting from an up-close, behind the scenes look at Kokomo and Howard County, Indiana.
What is the time investment required to participate?
Participants will benefit from more than 100 hours of professional development throughout the 9 month program running from August 2024 to May 2025 including 40+ hours of core leadership training and 45+ hours of community engagement education learning about various key areas of our community and understanding the synergy amongst each. Core leadership training competencies include: 1. intrapersonal and self leadership, 2. interpersonal, group, and team leadership, 3. organizational leadership and change management, and 4. community leadership.
Additionally, participants will be able to customize their leadership training with 10+ hours of supplemental and customizable leadership learning opportunities. Participants will meet approximately every other Tuesday for either half-day (8 a.m. - 12 p.m.) or full-day (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). Most Tuesdays will be half-day sessions, with 5 scheduled as full-day sessions. Leadership Kokomo meetings will vary between community engagement and tours throughout key areas of the community or leadership training from local or national speakers.
What parts of the community does Leadership Kokomo explore?
Different months are dedicated to various key areas of our community and understanding the synergy amongst each. Areas the program explores includes: Government, Community Services, Quality of Life, Law Enforcement, Health and Wellness, Diversity, Business and Industry, Economic Development, K - 12 Education, Higher Education, and Workforce Development.
